FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything property managers, HOA boards, and integrators ask before choosing Vivo Control.

01

The platform

Vivo Control is a community operating system — a software platform that unifies gate entry, visitor management, amenity access, CCTV, and resident communication into one dashboard and one resident app. It is not just an intercom. It replaces the 3–4 fragmented systems most properties currently run.

ButterflyMX is a video intercom focused on front-door entry for U.S. multifamily buildings. Vivo Control covers entry plus amenities, CCTV, bilingual resident support, elevator control, and local technicians across the U.S. and Caribbean. Many communities switch from ButterflyMX when they need more than a door solution.

Software-first. The platform is the product — hardware is the entry point. Vivo runs on your existing infrastructure wherever possible, and our hardware is designed to extend the platform, not replace it.

Yes. The platform scales from 10-unit HOAs to 1,500-unit multifamily towers. Pricing is per unit — communities of any size pay proportionally.

Yes — natively. The resident app, admin dashboard, push notifications, and technical support are all available in English and Spanish simultaneously. This is not a translation toggle — it is a fully bilingual platform.

02

Installation & compatibility

In most cases, no. Vivo is designed for retrofit deployments — we reuse your existing infrastructure wherever possible. A certified integrator will confirm compatibility during the free on-site assessment.

Most communities are fully live in under 48 hours. A certified Vivo integrator handles the install — no construction, no demolition, no disruption to residents.

Yes. Vivo is installed and tested in parallel with your current system. Residents maintain uninterrupted access throughout. The old system is decommissioned only after Vivo is fully live and verified.

Yes. Vivo extends access control to elevator call buttons and floor selection — restricting access by resident, floor, and time of day. Compatible with most commercial elevator systems currently in operation.

Doors keep working. Vivo’s local-first architecture ensures access continues during internet outages. Sync resumes automatically the moment connectivity is restored.

03

Residents & daily use

A smartphone. Residents download the Vivo app on iOS or Android, accept an invite sent by text or email, and have active access in under 5 minutes. No training required. No manual.

Vivo supports multiple access methods — QR code, PIN, fob, and mobile app. Smartphone is the premium experience, not the only option.

From the app. Residents send a time-bound digital pass to any guest by text or email. The guest scans in at the entry point — no phone call, no buzzer, no front desk required.

Residents generate a one-time access code for couriers directly from the app. The delivery person enters using that code — the resident receives a notification the moment the package is delivered. No one needs to be home.

Yes. Pool, gym, clubhouse, EV chargers — residents reserve from the app. Capacity rules, fees, and deposits are managed automatically. No spreadsheet. No phone call.

04

Security & compliance

Yes. Per-device certificates, signed firmware, encrypted video streams, and a full audit trail of every access event. SOC 2 Type II compliant. Every door event is logged, timestamped, and signed.

Property managers and authorized administrators see full logs for their property. Residents see only their own activity. Access to logs is role-based and configurable.

Revoke their access in one tap from the dashboard. No locksmith. No keycards to reprogram. New credentials issued instantly.

Yes. Every access event — gate, door, amenity, elevator — is logged with timestamp and identity. Exportable in one click for incident reporting, legal review, or insurance documentation.

05

Pricing & getting started

Pricing is per unit, per month — based on property size and modules selected. Many communities offset the cost entirely by charging residents a monthly technology fee. A senior integrator will prepare a clear quote for your property within 72 hours.

Many communities do. A technology fee charged to residents — typically $6–$12 per unit per month — covers the full platform cost. A 100-unit community charging $8/month generates $800/month — enough to cover Vivo and leave margin for the property.

There is no free trial. There is a no-obligation demo and a free on-site assessment. A senior integrator walks your entrance, reviews your wiring, and sends a scoped quote — at no cost and no commitment.
